About Miniature horses

The American miniature horse is a lovely animal, and can bring great joy to any family. In their past, minis have been bred for backyard pets, shows, research, mining work, and royalty. About the size of a large dog, these beautiful creatures are considered to be a "miniature" version of a standard-size equine in thier confirmation and distinguishing traits.

The miniature horse can be found in a variety of colors, and color combinations. They range from solid colors like black or sorrel; to colorful patterns such as pintos, roans, and appaloosas.  Colors in a mini can get pretty intricate when thinking of dilutions, dun genes, and sooty genes. So, to keep it simple, minis come in just about every color or colors you can imagine.

Contrary to popular belief, I have found the miniature horses to have personalities that of a full sized horse. Miniatures are eager to please, elegant, gentle, and affectionate. They make great companions for people at any age or any ability, which is why they are used in therapy and as service animals often times. This versitile equine excells in a variety of talents including; halter, jumping, obstacle, liberty, driving, and others. You can see a short video clip on one of our first miniature horses, "Oreo" driving my husband and kids HERE.

Anytime a Miniature horse goes to a fair, show, school, or other place, they are beloved people magnets. This, along with their loving dispositions, versitality, and personality, has made the American Miniature horse grow in popularity over the years.
